Salnikov on changing World Aquatics admission rules: “We are in constant dialogue”

First Vice-President of the Russian Swimming Federation (FVVSR) Vladimir Salnikov expressed hope that Russians will be able to participate in the World Championships in Budapest after changing the rules of the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics).

In the new edition of the world swimming rules on neutral status, there are no clauses limiting the requests of Russians for distances at international starts, there are no restrictions on participation in team events of the program – in the case of swimming, we are talking about relay races – and there are also no restrictions on meeting the standard exclusively outside of Russia and Belarus.

— We are moving forward, not interrupting communications and are constantly in dialogue with the international federation. World Aquatics is interested in athletes participating in competitions. We hope that our athletes will be able to participate in the World Championships in Budapest,” Salnikov told .

The Russian short course swimming championship, which begins on November 21 in St. Petersburg, may have qualifying status for participation in the December world championships in Budapest.
