Druzhinin – about World Aquatics’ decision regarding CSKA and Dynamo athletes: “A step towards a return”

Vice President of the Russian Swimming Federation (FVVSR) Stanislav Druzhinin considers the modification of the neutrality criteria and the admission of Russian athletes from the Dynamo and CSKA sports clubs as a new step towards a return to the international scene.

Earlier, Vladimir Salnikov, first vice-president of the FVVSR, told that athletes playing for CSKA and Dynamo could benefit from the neutral status of World Aquatics.

— The vector chosen for the return of Russian sport to the international scene is already bearing fruit. We have seen that divers have been granted neutral status, albeit very limited, as our athletes still cannot participate in the World Championships. However, the new introduction, which removes the restriction on the possibility of obtaining neutral status for representatives of sports clubs CSKA and Dynamo, is another step towards a return.

In diving, there are many worthy and strong representatives of CSKA and Dynamo, capable of competing for the highest international awards. But we are still waiting and hoping for the return of the sporting principle,” Druzhinin told .
