Sharafutdinova and Murasalimov took third place in ice dancing at a competition in St. Petersburg with a score of 158.24 points. Elizaveta Maleina and Matvey Samokhin won (175.80), Varvara Slutskaya and Gleb Goncharov took silver (161.84).
Murasalimov: There is satisfaction and relief. Preparing for departure was difficult; Before the competition we both got sick. We had to undergo surgical treatment, so the results suffered a bit, it seems to us.
Sharafutdinova: There is a satisfaction that everything has been weathered, that everything is finished. I made some mistakes in the choreography, I need to work harder and improve my routines.
— You have silver and bronze on the Grand Prix stages. Did you expect such results?
Murasalimov: I didn’t expect it. We worked as we did, increasing the number of training sessions and improving their quality. The goal was to skate cleanly and climb higher in the points.
Sharafutdinova: There was no expectation, but I wanted it to happen.
— What did you work on after Magnitogorsk?
Sharafutdinova: We tried to improve our skating so that it was more visible that we were skating, we worked on speed, step configuration and emotions.
Murasalimov: A lot of work was done on the rhythm and the paso doble. The work paid off.
— We have a lot of couples and a lot of competition. Is it motivating?
Sharafutdinova: This motivates us to work every day because we understand that there may be new couples.

Murasalimov: Sometimes we watch workouts and sometimes we ride together.

Murasalimov: The couple’s rolling style, all movements are absolutely the same, especially for Sasha and Vanya. We notice emotionality in Lisa and Yegor.
— What are your goals for this season?
Murasalimov: Skate cleanly, improve your skating. With skating, the result will come.
