— I am happy to welcome all participants, coaches, judges and guests of the All-Russian short course swimming competitions. I would like to convey to you the words of Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev, who wished you new records.
I would like to thank the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the St. Petersburg City Hall for the support they gave us in organizing this Russian championship.
These starts are qualifiers for the World Championships which will take place in Budapest. I believe that the calm on the global stage observed in recent years should be interrupted by our highly publicized results.
