Double Olympic medalist, medalist at the world swimming championships Kliment Kolesnikov explained to why his knuckles were broken.
On Thursday, Kolesnikov clocked his third time (51.04 seconds) in the 100m backstroke semi-final at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships, taking place in St. Petersburg.
– Why did you let your mustache grow? Who is your favorite mustachioed guy?
– I let him go to have fun. Nothing like that. And the guy – let it be the Italian Thomas Ceccon, who won the Paris Olympics.
– Why are the knuckles on your hand broken?
– Yes, I broke my fist on Saturday.
— Did you argue with anyone?
– No, I went to hit with a punching bag at the amusement park.
– For what?
“I just hit the punch machine.” And that’s what happened. Accident.
— Does this affect striking technique?
– Not really. The main thing is that I didn’t break anything.
— What do you think of the idea of uniting all the water federations?
– I don’t know. In general, nothing has changed for me personally. Let’s see what happens next. The main thing is that everything goes well. The rest doesn’t matter whether we have one or five organizations. It is simply easier to manage an organization by giving a few instructions. That when there are many structures and all kinds of transmission links. It’s already their job. But my job is to swim, and nothing has changed yet,” Kolesnikov told the correspondent.
