Former President of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF) Petr Ivanov said that thanks to his tenure in this position, a lot of work has been accomplished.
On Saturday, the ARAF reporting and election conference took place in Moscow. Based on the results of the delegates’ vote, Pyotr Fradkov was unanimously elected head of ARAF for a four-year term.
“These four years have become significant for the federation; a lot of work has been done in all areas of activity, including restoring the federation in World Athletics, conducting anti-doping work, organizing professional competitions and for children to a new level.
I would like to thank our entire team, the leaders of the regional federations and the board of directors for their fruitful joint work. I am convinced that the elected president of the federation, Pyotr Fradkov, will take the federation to an even higher level. I congratulate Pyotr Mikhailovich on his unanimous election and wish him success in his work for the benefit of athletics! — Ivanov wrote on the Telegram channel .
In March 2023, World Athletics reinstated its ARAF membership after seven and a half years. Despite this, the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes was extended due to the situation in Ukraine.
