Roman Shevlyakov won the 100 meter butterfly at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships in St. Petersburg.
In the final round, Shevlyakov posted a result of 49.81 seconds. Petr Zhikharev was second (50.19) and Olympic medalist Mikhail Vekovishchev (50.29) third.
In the men’s 200m breaststroke, Kirill Prigoda won (2:01.85), Alexander Zhigalov (2:01.91) took second place and Mikhail Dorinov (2:02.77) completed the top three.
In the women’s 100m freestyle, Daria Klepikova finished first (52.03), Daria Trofimova second (52.19) and Yana Shakirova third (52.98). Milana Stepanova won the 200m backstroke in 2 minutes 5.2 seconds. Elizaveta Agapitova was second (2.05.76) and Daria Zarubenkova third (2.07.32). In the women’s 800 meter freestyle, Ksenia Misharina won gold (8:17.01), Sofia Dyakova won silver (8:19.36) and Margarita Ershova won bronze (8:29.66).
