Dikiji: “Sometimes I look at the other skaters. All the guys are strong, the competition is incredible”

Figure skater Vladislav Dikidji said that there is very strong competition in men’s single skating in Russia, emphasizing that it was important for him to score more than 100 points in the short program.

On Saturday, the fifth stage of the Russian Grand Prix began in Saint Petersburg. Dikiji leads after the short program with 102.22 points. Gleb Lutfullin (93.41) takes second place, Dmitry Aliev (92.91) takes third place. On Sunday, the athletes will present their free programs.

— The first sensations are relaxation, today you can exhale, but tomorrow you have to force it. After the final stage of the Grand Prix, we worked on the choreography, jumps and spins, and increased the number of skates. My main task is to skate cleanly.

Is 100 points important? Yes, they are important. More is better.

It’s very nice to have this kind of support. Before it was a bit boring, but now it is very pleasant for the soul. Thanks to the supporters.

Sometimes I watch other skaters. All the guys are strong, the competition is incredible. We must strive and improve,” reports a correspondent, according to Dikiji.
