Ingulets suffered a crushing defeat from Shakhtar (0:6) in the 14th round of the UPL
Head coach Ingulets Vasily Kobin commented on the away defeat against Shakhtar (0:6) within the 14th round UPL.
“The goals we conceded at the beginning of the second half ended the game for us. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have the kind of character that, when playing against teams of such a level as Shakhtar, with a score of 0:2, you can impose your game and get out of this situation. After that, the team lost their way, the game became uncontrollable, which led to this score. However, we tried to play, and there is nothing to blame the guys for – they did what they agreed on, but it was not enough.”
“As I said recently and will repeat now: while I am the head coach of Ingulets, I see this kind of football, and we will play this kind of football – we will act high, aggressively and we will put pressure on the whole team. Yes, today we paid for it, but today in the UPL there are few teams of Shakhtar’s level that are able to easily escape pressure and create chances. The miner pointed out our mistakes and I think we need to find a balance. If we find him, Ingulets will play good football.”
“I’m not a little boy and I understand that the team is at the bottom of the standings and lost today. I don’t know how much patience the president will have, and we, the coaches, are ready for any development of events. But I speak for myself specifically and for the football that I see. We talked with the president about this, he knows my position. It should be understood that the president finances and makes decisions. I’m not going to leave my football and vision.”
Ingulets is the main outsider in the current UPL draw. Over 14 rounds, Vasily Kobin’s team scored only six points – all thanks to a draw.
Let us remind you that Ingulets will play all matches of the first part of the 2024/25 season away from home due to problems with the commissioning of the new club stadium in Petrovo. Ingulets will have to play all matches of the second part of the season at home.
Vasily Kobin’s team will play their next match on November 29 away against Vorskla.
