Sammelvuo led Team Canada to the 2024 Olympics, where the Maple Leaves did not qualify from the group.
Sammelvuo coached Kuzbass (2016-19), Zenith of Saint Petersburg (2019-22) and the Russian national team (2019-2022). WITH “Kuzbass” he won gold at the 2018/19 Russian Championship and, with the Russian team, won the 2019 Nations League.
