The Red Bull driver beat Norris in Las Vegas to win the championship ahead of schedule.
On Sunday, November 24, the 2024 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix race took place in the United States.
At the end of the stage, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen guaranteed himself the early championship for the season.
For the overall championship victory, the Dutch driver needed to finish above his main competitor Lando Norris from McLaren, which he did. Verstappen finished the race in fifth, one position ahead of Norris and denying his rival any mathematical chance of beating him in the individual competition.
This is Verstappen’s fourth championship in a row. In terms of the number of titles, the Red Bull driver is equal to Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. Juan Manuel Fangio has more championships – five, as do Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton – seven each.
