The defender scored his debut goal for Shakhtar in the match with Ingulets
Protective Shakhtar Bartol Franjic spoke about his debut goal for Gornyakov in the match with Ingulets (6:0) in the 14th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“First of all, I want to thank you for your congratulations and wishes. Indeed, I think that the first half was quite difficult, but in the second half we had a breakthrough, and, apparently, we managed to take these two or three steps, which were not enough for final implementation. Considering the result, the second half seemed much better.”
“Of course, when a penalty is missed, it affects the course of events in the match. If we remember the match with Bologna in the first round of the Champions League, we also suffered a similar situation. However, I believe that today we were able to demonstrate champion freedom and character and, after a missed penalty, we scored six goals against the opponent.
“Obviously, I’m very happy and proud that I managed to excel, but what matters most is the team results and overall achievements. Therefore, I think that we need to be proud of the team after today’s game, especially the second half. We were talking about the last friendly that took place this week, and I certainly had a feeling. We also spoke with the coaching staff, taking into account the retrospective. I’m glad that I was able to put these conversations into practice.”
Franjic scored early in the second half. The Croatian’s goal was the second for the Miners in the match with Ingulets. Later, Shakhtar scored four more goals, completing the defeat.
Marino Pusic’s team is third in the UPL with 29 points. Shakhtar will play their next match on November 27 in the Champions League against PSV.
