A longtime follower of the Super League criticized FIFA and UEFA
President of Madrid Real Madrid Florentino Perez shared his thoughts on the current situation in football.

UEFA has increased the number of non-essential and unnecessary matches in its European competitions, with no regard for the welfare of the players. He also created a new tournament – the League of Nations. The result is the decline of football, whose calendar and formats are designed without taking into account the main stakeholders in the sport: players, clubs and fans.”
“In addition, the excessive calendar in modern football takes a toll on the well-being of players who struggle to cope with the unprecedented schedule. This situation not only affects their results, but is also directly related to the alarming increase in injuries.”
77-year-old Perez has led Real Madrid since 2000 (with a three-year break). During his reign, Los Blancos won 61 trophies, including seven league and Champions League triumphs. In May of this year, Florentino became the most titled functionary in the history of the club, surpassing the legendary Santiago Bernabeu in the number of trophies. It was recently revealed that Real Madrid’s training ground will be renamed in honor of the current Blancos president.
