Zagitova on her favorite swimming style: “Frog”, as they say”

Olympic figure skating champion Alina Zagitova told that she loves swimming to stay fit and her favorite style is commonly known as ‘frog’.

Zagitova took part in the Russian short course swimming championship, which takes place in St. Petersburg.

— How did you get to the Russian swimming championship?

— At the same time, the Figure Skating Grand Prix took place in St. Petersburg. The tournament has already ended, the time has come and Vladimir Alexandrovich Leonov invited me to attend this event. I accepted with pleasure.

— Do you know any swimming stars? Evgenia Chikunova, Yulia Efimova, Kliment Kolesnikov…

– Naturally, I know all their victories. I am proud of them. Extraordinary athletes. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to meet them in person yet. But I think that’s still to come. Maybe it will happen today. Just find them in the training pool: they are still underwater, and it is difficult to distinguish them by their caps.

—What is your relationship with water? How often do you swim? How fast?

— I like swimming – of course, to stay in shape. It is beneficial, especially for the spine. That’s why swimming is still a part of my life. But I haven’t measured how fast I swim.

—What is your favorite style?

– “Frog”, as they say. And professionals call it “breaststroke,” Zagitova told .
