Olga Leleiko’s team began their tournament journey from the 1/8 finals, where they defeated Hungary (45:38). In the quarter finals, Ukrainian foil fencers defeated the leaders of the world rankings – Italy (45:43).
In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian team was stronger than France (41:39), achieving a historic qualification to the final. On the way to gold, the Ukrainians met with Japan, to whom they lost with a score of 22:24.
Despite this, winning silver was a historic achievement for Ukraine at the World Cup. Let us remind you that in May, at the World Cup in Hong Kong, Ukrainian foil fencers won a historic bronze medal.
