The Ukrainian women’s epee fencing team won silver at the World Cup in Vancouver

Ukrainian women’s epee fencing team won silver at World Cup 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.

The team was represented Joan Faby Bejura, Inna Brovko, Elena Krivitskaya And Anna Maksimenko. The Ukrainians started the tournament straight from the 1/8 finals. First, the Ukrainian national team defeated the hosts of the tournament, Canada, in a difficult fight (33:32), and in the 1/4 finals they also beat Italy with a difference of one shot (34:33).

In the semi-finals, the Ukrainians confidently defeated the 2024 Olympics vice-champions, the French team – 38:30. In the match for gold, the Ukrainian team lost to South Korea – 34:45.

Let us note that for the second year in a row the Ukrainian team climbed to the podium at the World Cup in Vancouver. In 2023, Ukrainian women took third place.

The KM stage in Vancouver in epee fencing took place from November 21 to 25. Ukraine was represented at the tournament by 13 athletes (8 in women’s and 5 in men’s competitions).
