General Motors/Cadillac will become the 11th team on the Formula 1 grid
Formula 1 announced an agreement with General Motors and her brand Cadillac about participation in the championship from 2026. President of General Motors Mark Reuss said his company hopes to take the sport to the next level.
“As the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula 1 demands innovation and excellence that push boundaries. General Motors and Cadillac are honored to join the world’s premier racing series, and we are committed to competing with passion and integrity to take the sport to the next level for racing fans around the world. This is a global stage for us to showcase GM’s engineering expertise and technology leadership on a whole new level.”
General Motors/Cadillac will be the 11th team on the Formula 1 grid.
Starting in 2026, the team will use Ferrari engines, while it promises to develop its own by the 2028 season.
Starting from the 2026 season, Formula 1 will also have another new participant – the Audi factory team, which acquired Sauber, will begin participating in the championship.
Let us remind you that Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won his fourth consecutive Formula 1 world title in the current 2024 season. There are only two stages left until the end of the campaign. The next Qatar Grand Prix will take place from November 29 to December 1.
