Swimmer Roman Shevlyakov won two gold medals on the fifth day of the Russian Short Course Championships in St. Petersburg.
Shevlyakov won the 50 butterfly, with a result of 22.15 seconds. In the fight for gold, he was ahead of Oleg Kostin (22.41) and Egor Yurchenko (22.57).
As part of the St. Petersburg-1 team, the athlete also won gold in the 4×50 m medley relay Shevlyakov, together with Miron Lifintsev, Kirill Prigoda and Evgeniy Volynsky, covered the distance in 1 minute 32.17 seconds. Second place goes to Moscow-1 (1.32.52), third place to Kaluga region-1 (1.35.11).
In the final heat of the 400 meter medley, Ilya Borodin became the best (3:57.67). Among the women, the gold medals were won by Maria Osetrova (50m backstroke, 26.51 seconds), Yana Shakirova (200m medley, 2:09.08) and Arina Surkova (50m freestyle, 23 .78).
In the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay, the team of the Republic of Tatarstan-1 (Anastasia Kolpakova, Daria Ustinova, Sofia Dyakova and Yana Shakirova) won with a score of 7 minutes 49.58.
