Skier Denis Spitsov won the individual freestyle race at the first stage of the Cup of Russia in Vershina Toya (Republic of Khakassia).
Olympic champion Spitsov covered the distance of 15 km in 32 minutes 38.6 seconds. The second was the three-time winner of the Olympic Games Alexander Bolshunov, who was 9.2 seconds behind the winner. Bolshunov reached the podium for the first time this season.
The third time trial time was achieved by Artem Maltsev (+12.1). Savely Korostelev, who fought for prizes until the 10th kilometer of the distance, lost more than two minutes at the finish and became 30th.
The second stage of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Cup, which was to take place in early December in Tyumen, has been postponed and will also take place in Vershina Toya.
