The club and the player have not yet agreed on a new agreement
Arsenal next summer may be left without a midfielder Jorginho. There is currently no agreement between the club and the player to extend the agreement.
The 32-year-old’s contract with the Gunners expires at the end of this season. This means that as early as January he can officially negotiate a move to another club (if he is not from England).
Jorginho played for Verona and Napoli in Serie A, from where he moved to Chelsea in 2018. Together with the Blues, the footballer won the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup, and as part of the Italian national team he became the European champion in 2021.
The midfielder joined the Gunners in January last year, signing a contract until the end of the 2023/24 season. The contract contained a clause on the possibility of extension for another year, and the club decided to activate this option as a sign of gratitude to the experienced player.
This season, Jorginho appeared on the field eight times (414 minutes in different tournaments), but was not particularly effective. There were reports of interest in the services of the midfielder of Saudi Arabian clubs.
Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League standings. Today Mikel Arteta’s team will play Sporting in the Champions League.
