Double Olympic medalist Kliment Kolesnikov took second place in the 100 meter freestyle at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships.
In the final heat, Kolesnikov posted a result of 46.36 seconds, losing to the winner Yegor Kornev 0.37 seconds. Dmitry Zhavoronkov took third place (46.69).
The best time in the 1,500 meter freestyle was achieved by Kirill Martynychev (14:25.24). Alexander Stepanov was second (14:38.78) and Andrey Filipets third (14:43.55).
Arina Surkova won gold in the women’s 100 meter butterfly (56.34). The silver medal was won by Daria Klepikova (56.36) and the bronze medal by Svetlana Chimrova (57.71).
The tournament in St. Petersburg will end on November 26.
