Bayer defeated Salzburg at home, 17-year-old Ukrainian Stepanov made his debut for Pharmacists

Bayer won a landslide victory at home Salzburg in the 5th round match Champions League 2024/25 – 5:0.

Already in the first half, the Pharmacists scored three times. At the beginning of the meeting, Florian Wirtz converted a penalty, and three minutes later, Alejandro Grimaldo scored from a free kick. In the 30th minute, Wirtz scored a double.

After the break, Patrick Schick and Aleix Garcia brought the score to an indecent level. Salzburg did not respond to the German champion.

In the 73rd minute, a 17-year-old Ukrainian came on as a substitute for Bayer Artem Stepanov. This is the forward’s debut match for the main team of Pharmacists.

Let us note that the match in Leverkusen was judged by the Ukrainian team of referees led by Nikolai Balakin.

Bayer scored 10 points and moved up to fifth place in the overall Champions League standings. Salzburg remained in 30th position with 3 points.

In the next round of the Champions League, Bayer will host Inter, and Salzburg will play PSG at home. Both matches are scheduled for December 10.
