Kryskiw: We really have a goal – to be among the top 24 teams in the Champions League

Today the Miners will play against PSV in the group stage of the Champions League

Shakhtar midfielder Dmitry Kryskiv commented on the upcoming match with PSV in the group stage of the Champions League. The midfielder emphasized that the Miners are capable of achieving a positive result.

“We are familiar with this team, we are preparing very carefully, we see that PSV is showing an excellent game not only in the championship, but also in the Champions League. I think we should look at their weaknesses first and then focus on our strengths. And if we manage to show our best qualities and a perfect game, we can count on a positive result in this match.”

“We keep an eye on the standings. We are very happy that we won this victory in the last round and moved up higher. We really have a goal to be among the top 24 teams in the Champions League, so we will prepare game by game and hope that we can do it.”

“The mood in the team, as always, is good: we are very glad that we won the domestic championship, it will only give us confidence and strength. We will analyze our bad moments in the game, remember the good moments, and hope that we can carry such a good victory into the Champions League.”

“The coaching staff comes to our position, because it’s really not very easy to play on the third or fourth day, makes adjustments to the preparatory period, to the training process and gives us time to recover. And we can recover in this short period between games, because they give us enough time so that we can give our best in each next match.”

The match between PSV and Shakhtar will take place today, November 27. Start – 22:00 Kyiv time. The match will be officiated by Swiss referee Urs Schnyder.

PSV collected five points after four matches in the general stage of the 2024/25 Champions League. Peter Bosz’s team lost to Juventus (1:3), drew against Sporting (1:1) and PSG (1:1), and also defeated Girona (4:0). In the overall standings, the club from Eindhoven ranks 24th.

In the overall Champions League standings, the Miners are in 27th place with four points to their name.
