The award ceremony will take place on December 16
Winger Barcelona Lamin Yamal became the winner of the award Golden Boy 2024.
Yamal has been leading the Golden Boy Football Benchmark rating since April and has not given up the championship to anyone. In the voting of the jury, consisting of 50 journalists from different European countries, the winger scored 488 out of 500 points.
Let us remind you that two Ukrainians were included in the preliminary list of 100 players. Both represent Lviv Rukh – defender Bogdan Slyubyk and midfielder Evgeniy Pastukh. However, both failed to pass through the harsh selection sieve.
In October, Lamine won the Kop Trophy for the best young footballer of 2024. Yamal became the European champion this year with the Spanish national team, being the youngest player to win the European championship. Also, at the age of 16 years and 338 days, he became the youngest player in the history of this tournament. Yamal is the youngest scorer in the history of the European Championships and Spanish La Liga, and the winger scored his first goal for the main Spanish national team at the age of 16 years and 57 days, which also etched his name in history.
The Golden Boy 2024 award ceremony will take place on December 16 at a gala concert in Turin. Let us remember that last year the trophy was won by Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.
