The International Skating Union (ISU) has suspended Russian-born American figure skater Ivan Desyatov from all tournaments held under the auspices of the organization due to allegations of sexual harassment, reports the ISU press service.
In October, the U.S. Center for Sports Safety announced Desyatov’s suspension for inappropriate conduct.
— In accordance with the decision concerning figure skater Ivan Desyatov, provisionally suspended on October 18, 2024 for alleged sexual misconduct by the American Center for Safety in Sports, the ISU Council decided to extend the suspension to all competitions under the auspices of the ISU. The council also recommends that all ISU members extend the suspension to all activities and competitions under their control, the statement said.
Desyatov is 23 years old, he was born in Moscow. Early in his career, he competed for Russia and then represented Belarus. In 2022, Desyatov began performing in tandem with Isabella Flores for the United States.
