Korotyshkin clarified the situation with the doping tests of swimmers before the World Cup

Vice President of the Russian Swimming Federation Yevgeny Korotyshkin said that the issue of the lack of doping controls was addressed in advance, already during discussions about the possibility of participating in the World Championship.

Russian athletes will participate in the World Short Course Swimming Championships in December in neutral status. To obtain neutral status, it is necessary to pass a certain number of anti-doping controls, particularly international ones.

— We carried out tests during the Russian championship. There is still time before leaving for the World Championships. All samples will be completed on time. Regarding international trials, we have discussed this situation with World Aquatics. When they arrive, the guys will be tested; neutral status can be obtained while they are already on site. If we hadn’t had the opportunity, World Aquatics would have reported it. Maybe for some from the outside it all seems chaotic, but we are taking every chance in the current situation and making decisions in dialogue with World Aquatics.

—And visas?

— The consulate assured us, Dmitri Arkadyevich Mazepin was personally involved in this issue, that we should have visas before December 7. We have to be on time,” Korotyshkin told .

The World Short Course Swimming Championships will take place in Budapest from December 10 to 15.
