Rodnina on the admission of Russians to the World Swimming Championships: “I can’t have any other feelings than joy. We must take advantage of the opportunity”

Three-time Olympic figure skating champion and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina told that the participation of Russians in the World Short Course Swimming Championships would contribute to the return of national athletes from other sports to the international arena.

Earlier it became known that Russian athletes will participate in the World Short Course Swimming Championships in December with a neutral status. The tournament will take place in Hungary from December 10 to 15.

“We are happy for any athlete if he gets the opportunity to show his results at an international tournament. That’s sport. I can’t feel any other feelings than joy. If you have the opportunity to perform and win, you must take advantage of it. Because this is precisely the case when we return step by step to the international sports structure,” Rodnina told .

Russian athletes will participate in the World Short Course Swimming Championships in December in neutral status. To obtain neutral status, it is necessary to pass a certain number of anti-doping controls, particularly international ones.
