Roma with Dovbik saved an away draw against Tottenham in the fifth round of the Europa League

Mats Hummels scored the saving goal for Roma in second-half stoppage time.

IN London the fifth round match ended Europa League 2024/25Tottenham tied with Roma (2:2).

Spurs opened the scoring in the 5th minute – Heung-Min Son converted a penalty. The guests restored the status quo in the middle of the first half through the efforts of Ivorian centerback Evan N’Dick. And yet, Postecoglou’s team went into the break leading the score – Welsh winger Brennan Johnson scored in the third match in a row.

Roma put serious pressure on the Spurs goal at the end of the match and still achieved their goal. In stoppage time for the second half, Angelino crossed from the left flank, and Mats Hummels sent the ball into the net from a meter away. Note that for the 35-year-old centerback this was only the third match for Roma.

Roma forward Artem Dovbik was in the starting lineup and played the entire 90 minutes on the field. In the opening of the second half, the Ukrainian managed to score, but after VAR intervention, Fraser Forster’s goal was canceled.

With six points in their asset, Ranieri’s team is in intermediate 21st position in the overall standings. Of the five Europa League matches, Roma won only one – at home against Dynamo Kyiv (1:0). Tottenham are in 9th place with 10 points.

In the next round of the Europa League, Roma will host Braga at home, and Tottenham will be visiting Rangers. Both games will take place on December 12.
