The Czech coach is pleased with the victory over such a strong opponent and praises his players for their efficiency
Head coach Victoria (Pilsen) Miroslav Koubek commented on the victory over Dynamo (2:1) on a neutral field in the 5th round match Europa League.
“We beat a strong team. Especially at the end of the game they showed their strength. We wanted to disrupt their play structure with high positioning and attacks. They are a very good combination team, and it was their combinations that we wanted to prevent. From here we wanted to go on the counter-attack and I think we did that well in the first half. But the opponent also created his own chances. We were effective in the second half.”
Let us remind you that the first half of the match in Hamburg ended without goals, and at the beginning of the second, Victoria scored through the efforts of veteran Matej Vydra. Dynamo was never able to equalize, at the end of the game they conceded the second one, and only managed to dampen the score – the team’s first goal in this League was scored by Vladislav Kabaev.
After today’s defeat, Dynamo confirmed their status as the worst club in this Europa League. The Kiev team occupy the last 36th place in the overall Europa League standings, with zero points and a goal difference of 1:12. The closest neighbors of the blue-whites in the basement of the table have two points in their account – these are Nice, RFS and Ludogorets.
After today’s victory, Victoria rose to 13th position – the club from the Czech Pilsen has nine points.
In the next round of the Europa League, Dynamo will visit Real Sociedad, and Victoria will host Manchester United at home. Both games will take place on December 12.
