“There was no pressure, no intimidation. All of Rukavitsyn’s remarks were about the case” – Leonova on Nugumanova’s accusations against the coach

Figure skater allegations Elisabeth Nugumanova about the coach Evgeniya Rukavitsyna have no basis, the athlete’s words must be questioned, said the vice-world champion in 2012, choreographer Alena Leonova.

Earlier, Nugumanova in an interview with said that Rukavitsyn insulted her because of her excess weight. In the summer it became known that the 19-year-old figure skater decided to leave Rukavitsyn’s group.

– In my memory, when I was present at training, and until last month (pregnancy) I went there, already with a big belly, but I came and watched, and therefore, honestly, I didn’t I had no pressure, as we say “harassment”, I saw that it was nothing. All of Yevgeny Vladimirovich’s comments were straight to the point.

Why do you think Nugumanova needs this scandal? After all, it will now be much more difficult for him to continue his career.

“Well, we’ll have to see how it goes, see if it hits her or not. Of course, some people think ‘black’ PR is also PR, but again, probably not this time.

– Most people in the world of figure skating are on the side of the coach. Rukavitsyn is supported even by those who do not know him closely (for example, many fans). Why is that?

– Many wrote that it was about authority, because he was an adult. Moreover, the situation is, in principle, out of the ordinary. It seems to me that after reading any interview with Elizabeth, you can understand that there is so little truth in it, so naturally you want to believe an adult,” Leonova told The Championship.
