The 18-year-old athlete took second in the 10-meter platform diving
Ukrainian Daniil Avanesov won a silver medal at 2024 World Diving Championships among juniors.
18-year-old Avanesov competed in diving from a 10-meter platform. The Ukrainian reached second place after his second jump, which became his best (75.20 points). As a result, Daniil scored 531.70 points, maintaining his position on the podium.
Italian Simone Conte won gold with a total of 547.65. American jumper Joshua Hedberg took bronze (528.70).
Let us remind you that earlier the Ukrainian team won bronze in the mixed team competition. The blue-and-yellows were represented by Kirill Azarov, Ksenia Bochek, Sofia Vystavkina and Mark Gritsenko. The Ukrainians scored a total of 329.40 points.
Ksenia Bochek also won bronze in the 1m springboard jump among girls (category 14-15 years old). Boček won another gold medal in synchronized diving, paired with Diana Karnafel. Mark Gritsenko won gold in the 10-meter platform jump (age category 14-15 years). Also, Valery Maleev and Dmitry Stepanov won silver and bronze, respectively, in the 3-meter springboard jumping (category 14-15 years old).
The 2024 World Junior Diving Championships are taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The competition will last until December 1st.
