On Sunday, Gleikhengauz gave a master class at the Avangard ice rink in Moscow.
— What is it like to train amateurs? How much more complicated could it be?
“I’m in great shape now with amateur training.” On Tuesday, I have my two groups, two hours, so I know the approach, the exercises too, so it wasn’t difficult. It was great that people came, even though the weather wasn’t quite New Year’s yet, the snow hadn’t yet fallen, it was windy, but otherwise it was great. I hope everyone who came enjoyed it.
— How satisfied are you with the past stages of the Grand Prix?
— The stages took place differently, each of them was successful for some, but not for others. Therefore, here we can talk for a very long time for each athlete individually. The shape and condition is different for everyone. Therefore, the main thing is to bring everyone fit, without injuries, to the Russian Championship. Show your best skating there, because the most important thing at the moment is our Russian Championship. Therefore, the best results, the best skating is the most important thing to show there.
— Adelia Petrosyan’s preparation for the Grand Prix stages has changed. Will this change for the Russian Championship?
— Regarding Adelia: in her case, the last stage was not bad, the short was already at a very high level, the free – with an error, so they gave her some time to recover. Now we are preparing as usual, we are training, we are skating, so we will still decide on the content: will we complicate it or not and we will rely on pure skating, ”reports the correspondent of according to the words of Gleikhengauz.
The Russian Figure Skating Championship will be held from December 19 to 22 in Omsk.
