Ukraine took the final third place in the overall medal standings at 2024 World Junior Diving Championships.

Representatives of Ukraine won a total of nine medals – two gold, three silver and four bronze. The blue-and-yellows are in the lead in the total number of medals won at the competition, and they do this by a huge margin – Mexico has six medals, Germany and China have five each.

Mexico topped the medal standings with four golds and two silvers. Second place goes to China, which has three gold, one silver and one bronze medals.

Let us remind you that the first medal for the Ukrainian team was bronze in the mixed team competition. The blue-and-yellows were represented by Kirill Azarov, Ksenia Bochek, Sofia Vystavkina and Mark Gritsenko. The Ukrainians scored a total of 329.40 points.

Next, Ksenia Bochek won bronze in the 1m springboard jump among girls (category 14-15 years old). Bochek also won one gold medal in synchronized diving, paired with Diana Karnafel. Mark Gritsenko won gold in the 10-meter platform jump (age category 14-15 years). Valery Maleev and Dmitry Stepanov won silver and bronze, respectively, in the 3-meter springboard jumping (category 14-15 years old). David Avanesov also won a silver medal in the 10-meter platform diving (category 16-18 years old).

Ukraine won two more medals yesterday, on the last day of competition. Valery Maleev won bronze in the 1-meter springboard (category 14-15 years), and Diana Shevchenko became third in the 10-meter platform (also category 14-15 years).

The 2024 World Junior Diving Championships were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The competition ended yesterday, December 1st.
