Athletistic/ Others. Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren, who earlier in an interview supported Russian and Belarusian athletes, calling their suspension from international tournaments unfair, answered a question about the possibility of defending Russian athletes before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS).
“Would I agree to defend the suspended Russian athletes before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)? Sorry, but I cannot do that. I do not do legal work to defend anyone,” said said McLaren.
A few years ago, Richard led a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) commission investigating a doping scandal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
