Another Ukrainian Oleg Doroshchuk became the fourth
Ukrainian athlete Andrey Protsenko conquered bronze medal in the high jump European Multisport Championship 2022which takes place in Munich.
Two Ukrainians reached the finals of the competition – in addition to Andrey, Oleg Doroshchuk overcame the qualification. Both started well with a height of 2.18 m, and overcame the mark of 2.23. At this point, only six athletes remained in the high jump sector.
Doroshchuk stopped at a height of 2.23, and eventually took 4th place. Protsenko managed to take the bar and also overcome the mark of 2.27, as well as his rivals Gianmarco Tamberi from Italy and Tobias Pottier from Germany.
Andrey failed to jump higher, finishing the competition with a score of 2.27. Pottier took the same height on the first attempt, like all the previous ones – the German won silver. Tamberi overcame a height of 2.30 on the second attempt and became the European champion.
Note that this is the first medal for the Ukrainian team in athletics at the current tournament. In total, Ukrainians have 8 awards – 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze.
The 2022 European Multisport Championship takes place from 11 to 21 August in Munich.
