Ukrainian Bekh-Romanchuk became European triple jump champion

Ukrainian Marina Bekh-Romanchuk won the triple jump at the European Athletics Championships in Munich (Germany).

Bekh-Romanchuk showed a result of 15.02 meters. Christina Myakela of Finland (14.64) won the silver medal, Anna Minenko of Israel (14.45) won the bronze medal.

British runner Laura Muir won the 1500 meters in 4 minutes 1.08 seconds. Finn Topi Raitanen took first place in the 3000m hurdles with 8:21.8. Britain’s Jarnel Hughes won gold in the 200 meters (20.07), among women in this discipline, Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambuji (22.32) became the first.

The discus throw was won by Mykolas Alekna from Lithuania (69.78 metres). In the women’s 400 meters hurdles, the Dutch Femke Bol (52.67) became the best among men – the Norwegian Carsten Warholm (47.12).

The European Athletics Championships take place from August 15 to 21.
