Silver medalist at the world championships Alena Leonova told Sport Day after Day that she hadn’t heard anything about figure skater Uliana Shiryaeva moving to Canada, and also stressed that the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) should not stop athletes from move to another country.
In 2021, Shiryaeva won junior bronze at the Russian Cup stage. At the 2022 Russian Junior Championship, she took 11th place.

The skaters want to compete on the international stage, but in Russia there is no such opportunity, so our federation should not keep them. It all depends on what type of skater it is.
