Hearn: Joshua won’t retire if Usyk loses

If Anthony wins, he will become the biggest star in the world ring.

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that the British Anthony Joshua you should not think about leaving the sport in case of a loss to the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“If he wins, he will be the biggest star in boxing by a huge margin over the others. If he loses, he will come back, rebuild and take the division back.”

“When you are 100% physically fit like Anthony, you love sports, you feel motivated and you are in your prime, then why think about retiring? However, there are so many options before the fight that I try not to think about the subsequent scenario.

“Before the sixth round, this fight must be over, or Usyk will already be defeated. You can’t let Alexander get into his rhythm, ”added the promoter.

The second fight between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia. The referee in the ring will be the representative of Puerto Rico – Luis Pabon. Victor Fesechko (Ukraine), Steve Gray (Great Britain) and Glenn Feldman (USA) will take care of the judging.

In Ukraine, the Usyk-Joshua rematch will be broadcast by the MEGOGO media service and the 2+2 TV channel. Oleksandr personally purchased the rights to broadcast his fight with AJ in order to transfer them to Ukrainian broadcasters for free.

Last fall, Usyk defeated Joshua by unanimous decision to become world heavyweight champion for the first time.
