2006 Olympic Champion Tatyana Navka told Metaratings.ru that it is not necessary to attach great importance to information about the move of Russian figure skater Uliana Shiryaeva to Canada.
Shiryaeva, 15, moved to Canada earlier in 2022 and has already been entered into the Belair Direct BC tournament, which takes place August 18-21 in Burnaby.
– The Figure Skating Federation makes every effort to ensure that our athletes do not leave. Transitions of Russian skaters to the flags of other countries have always been. It doesn’t have to be seen as a significant extreme,” Navka said.
Shiryaeva won junior bronze at the Russian Cup stage in 2021 and also became 11th in the Russian junior championship in 2022.
