For Kichenok, this victory was the most important in his career. It is noteworthy that, together with Ostapenko, he won the second tournament in 2022 – earlier there was a victory in Birmingham. They were also finalists in Dubai and Eastbourne.
Thanks to this victory, Lyudmila will rise to the 11th place in the doubles ranking for the first time. At the moment, the Ukrainian-Latvian couple takes second place for the right to play in the WTA Finals.
