Joshua: I’m a new breed of heavyweight

The Briton put on a solo performance after losing to Usyk.

On Saturday, August 20, in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah at the Super Dome arena, a boxing evening took place from the promotional company Matchroom Boxing, where the main fight was the long-awaited rematch between Alexander Usik and Anthony Joshua.

The Ukrainian boxer won by split decision (115-113, 113-115, 116-112), prompting a strong reaction from Joshua.

The Briton first left the ring, and then returned to throw the belts of the Ukrainian and make a speech about the defeat.

“Usyk is a damn good fighter. Let’s give him a round of applause. Sorry guys, but if you know my story, you would understand my passion. I was not an amateur boxer from a young age, but looked towards the prison.

I’m stealing that time from you, Usyk. Sorry, but it’s because of fucking passion. I’m not a 12 round fighter. I am a new breed of heavyweights. Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston… They say I don’t throw Rocky Marciano-style combos, but I don’t fucking weigh 89 kilos,” Joshua said after the Usyk fight.
