Ilya lost to the Briton Fraser on an additional indicator
19 year old Ukrainian gymnast Ilya Kovtun became vice-champion of the European Multisport Championship 2022which takes place in Munich.
Kovtun took second place in the exercises on parallel bars. Ilya scored the same number with Joe Frazier, but lost to the Briton in an additional indicator (performance score – 8.733 against 8.833).
In 2022, Kovtun won the World Cup standings in parallel bars. He became the only gymnast who was invincible on one apparatus this World Cup season.
This is the second medal of the Ukrainian national team in artistic gymnastics at the European Multisport Championship. Earlier, Igor Radivilov won bronze in the vault.
In total, Ukraine has 20 medals at the continental championship in Munich, including four gold medals. The competition ends today, August 21st.
