Gymnasts now intend to focus on how to recover.
“We are not planning to compete at the moment. At the moment we are busy with treatment, recovery and just keeping fit,” said one of the sisters.
Averins is one of the most successful athletes in rhythmic gymnastics. Dina has 18 world championship gold medals, Arina has won 5 world championships.
