Kolesnikov won Spartakiad gold in the 100m backstroke

Kliment Kolesnikov won the last race of the 100 meters backstroke in the All-Russian Spartakiad of the strongest athletes.

Kolesnikov finished in 52.90 seconds. Second place was taken by Pavel Samusenko (53.16 seconds) and third by Nikolay Zuev (53.91).

Kolesnikov, 22, won silver (100m backstroke) and bronze (100m freestyle) at the Tokyo Olympics. He is also six times short course world champion and six times European champion.

Swimming competitions in Spartakiad are held in St. Petersburg and will end on August 26.
