Trubin: The last touch was not enough to score

Goalkeeper Gornyakov believes that the conditions in the match with Metalist 1925 were the same for both teams

Goalkeeper Miner Anatoly Trubin shared his impressions of the match of the first round UPL with Metalist 1925 (0:0).

“I didn’t play official matches for 9 months and I really missed it. There was even a slight jitters before the match. Glad that everything went well, but disappointed with the result.

The field, the ball and everything else was the same with Metallist 1925, so everything was on an equal footing. The only thing was that it was very hot and the field was not wet, so the ball didn’t go fast.”

“We missed the last pass, the last touch, to score. The opponent did a great job, defending well throughout the game, but we also lacked composure. This match was still the first after a long break, we need to work on.”

The match between Shakhtar and Metalist 1925 was the first match in the UPL in 254 days since the Kolos-Minay match played on December 12 last year. In the next round, the team of Igor Jovicevich will host Kryvbas on August 28.
