Athletistic/ Figure Skating. 2009 European champion Sergei Novitsky has reacted to news that Russian figure skater Maria Dmitrieva will compete for Israel.
According to Novitsky, this decision will help Dmitrieva to participate in serious international competitions.
– It’s hard to call this a defeat for Russia, because in women’s singles we have too many talented girls and juniors, – Novitsky said bluntly.
“Perhaps, as part of the Israeli national team, Dmitrieva will have the opportunity to perform at major competitions: the European and World Championships, at the Olympic Games at the end,” said said Novitsky, quoted by RT.
