“Sasha Trusova is very cool, so powerful – really a rocket. Kamila Valieva is very sweet. Anya Shcherbakova is good in her own way. I looked at Sasha’s silver medal with understanding. But it seemed to me that Anya Shcherbakova was just better then. Anya got into the first program – didn’t flinch. I went to the second – didn’t flinch. That’s why I got the gold medal,” said Maksimova said.
According to the results of women’s individual skating at the Olympics, Anna Shcherbakova won the gold medal, Alexandra Trusova received silver, and bronze went to Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto. Another Russian figure skater, Kamila Valieva, finished the tournament in 4th place.
