Athletistic/ Figure Skating. State Duma Deputy Irina Rodnina, using the example of Alexandra Trusova, explained why the number of difficult jumps is of secondary importance to her.

“An attempt is not torture, but Trusova did not explain it well. In our sport, a purely executed element is evaluated. And if you try and do not succeed, they can lower your mark. There was so much of cries that Trusova jumped five quadruplets, but there were barely 2-3,” Rodnina said.

Trusova became the first figure skater in Olympic Games history to complete five quadruple jumps in the program. Nevertheless, Alexandra took second place, losing to Anna Shcherbakova by 4 points.
