Barukko participated in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc and finished under the colors of the Russian flag. At the same time, he had in his hands a “Sport without borders” banner.
“I want to appeal to the athletes from 120 countries who participated in the competition. Any suspension is discrimination, sport must unite. I want to support Russian athletes, whether they are top athletes or beginners. They must not not pay with dreams and years of suffering,” says Barukko.
