The national teams of Russia and Belarus scored the same number of points in the Ageev Brothers Cup

The fourth and final day of the Cup of the Ageev brothers and Olympic champions Yuri Postrigai and Alexander Dyachenko in kayaking and canoeing took place.

The medals were disputed in 32 finals, reports the press service of the competition.

In the 100 meter race (SUPERSPRINT), the medals were played in kayak and canoe singles in the 19+ category. In the women’s canoe, the double world champion Irina Andreeva won, in the men’s canoe, the Belarusian three-time world champion Artem Kozyr won. Among kayakers, the 100-meter race was won by world championship medalist Yevgeny Lukantsov and world champion Anastasia Dolgova.

In the AAACUP hallmark race, kayakers competed against academic rowing representatives. A year earlier, the kayakers had lost, but now they have had their revenge. At a distance of 500 meters, two quadruple kayaks opposed a quadruple oar without coxswain. The victory went to a kayak composed of Vladislav Litovka, Roman Anoshkin, Kirill Lyapunov and Vladislav Blintsov. At a distance of 350 meters, the four-man kayak competed with the four-man pair and also won against it. Artem Kuzakhmetov, Alexander Sergeev, Oleg Gusev, Evgeny Lukantsov took the victory in kayaking.

In the kayak-two at 200 meters in the category “Fathers and sons over 14 years old”, the coach of the Altai Territory rowing team, Alexander Sukhoi, together with his son Alexander, became the first, AAACUP organizer Alexander Ageev, with his son Bogdan, won bronze.

A new indoor rowing world record was also set in the 1 million meter discipline for men aged 30-39. For four days, 10 Russians took turns rowing on the Concept 2 simulator, which mimics academic rowing. The new world record is now 65 hours 17 minutes 52.6 seconds. The previous world record was set by a New Zealand team in 2015 and was 80 hours 50 minutes.

The results of the Team Cup were also summarized – the confrontation between the Russian national team and the Belarusian national team. For four days of competition, the results of Russian and Belarusian rowers were summarized. The two teams scored 325 points each and shared first place in the Team Cup.

The Ageev Brothers Cup was held on the Moscow Rowing Canal from August 25-28.
